We are delighted to introduce our new colleague, Dr. Alexander Bernath.
Alex studied mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and started as a scientific researcher and doctoral student at KIT-FAST in 2013. In December 2019, he received his doctoral degree. Within his thesis, Alex investigated and modeled chemical crosslinking and process-induced distortion (PID) of continuous fiber-reinforced thermosets. Afterward, he joined the Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute and was responsible for the subject area “Automation in Inland Navigation” and the coordination of related research and development projects. In addition, he worked on methods for the efficient generation of data sets for the training of neural networks using machine learning methods.
Welcome to the team, Alex!
